How long does ISO 22000 certification take in Jordan?

Accreditation, audit language and remote audits in Jordan

Does the Jordan Food and Drug Administration require ISO 22000 for food factories?
The Administration's published Food Directorate tasks include monitoring good manufacturing practice and HACCP in food handling, and they do not name ISO 22000. Certification is therefore a commercial or export-market decision unless a buyer requires it. Confirm the inspection and registration duties for your product category with the Administration before planning.
How does ISO 22000 relate to the export health certificates for Jordanian food?
They do different jobs. The Food Directorate grants health certificates for export of locally produced food as a regulatory step for a consignment, while ISO 22000 shows that a food safety management system works, with the certificate issued by an accredited body. A certified system can ease inspections and buyer audits but does not replace the health certificate.
Who issues an ISO 22000 certificate to a Jordanian producer?
A certification body that holds accreditation for food safety management, not Sterling and not the Food Directorate. Since Jordan's accreditation unit is listed for product certification only, a producer should ask which accreditation body backs the candidate, and whether the scope names its food category, such as dairy, meat, bakery or beverages, before signing.
Is ISO 22000 the same as HACCP for a Jordanian food company?
No. HACCP is a hazard analysis method that the Food Directorate says it monitors in food handling, while ISO 22000 is a management system standard that builds HACCP principles into prerequisite programmes and management processes. Many producers establish HACCP first and extend to ISO 22000 when a retailer or export buyer asks for a certificate.
