Project plan generator: questions buyers ask
Is this plan a quote or a commitment?
No. It is Sterling's planning estimate, confirmed after a gap analysis. The phases, deliverables and owners come from our implementation-plan guide for the standard; the weeks are ranges from a quick project to a slow one. A Sterling consultant puts one date on each row once the gap analysis shows your starting point, and the proposal that follows is scoped and all-inclusive.
What is the difference between Design™ and Drive™?
They are two alternative levels of support, and you choose one for the engagement. The phases, gates and deliverables are the same in both. Under Design™ your team does the drafting on Sterling templates, with workshops, coaching and review. Under Drive™ Sterling consultants carry the agreed consulting and documentation work with your owners, who approve it. Decisions stay with your management either way.
Does Sterling certify us at the end of the plan?
No. Sterling never certifies. An independent, accredited certification body audits and takes the certification decision. For ISO/IEC 17025 the accreditation body assesses and its committee decides; for PCI DSS a QSA assesses, or your executive signs the self-assessment questionnaire; for SOC 2 a licensed CPA firm examines your controls and issues the report.
Is anything I choose sent to Sterling?
No. The plan is built in your browser from the data on this page. Nothing is sent or stored, and printing or copying the plan stays on your device. To discuss it, book a discovery call and share it yourself.
Why does the plan work back from a target month?
The external audit can only be booked once your system has run long enough to leave records, and the certification body schedules its auditors weeks ahead. Working back from the month you want the audit to begin shows when week one has to start, and whether your target sits inside the estimate or only at its quick end.
Which standards does the generator cover?
The nine standards with a published Sterling implementation-plan guide: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 22000, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, ISO 45001, PCI DSS and SOC 2. For an integrated system or another standard, a Sterling consultant builds the combined plan with you.
