Sterling International Consulting London

Sterling's ISO consultants in London lead ISO certification, cyber security and data protection programmes for organisations across the United Kingdom. From our regional headquarters on City Road, one engagement team plans the scope, builds the system with your people and stays with you until an independent, accredited body issues the certificate. We ensure successful certification for our clients.

  • Regional headquarters for UK and Europe, working alongside our Enschede regional headquarters and our office in Germany
  • Programmes shaped around UKAS accredited certification, Cyber Essentials for public-sector suppliers and UK GDPR
  • The Sterling Promise: 100% on-time completion, 100% success, 8,100+ client engagements. Sterling does not certify; an accredited body audits and decides

What we do here

Everything a Sterling engagement includes, delivered from London.

The London team runs the whole engagement for UK organisations, from the first gap analysis to the day the certificate arrives, with the method the group has refined since 2003. Your engagement team works in your time zone, runs workshops and reviews online and visits your sites where an auditor will want to see the work being done.

  • Scope, gap analysis and implementation plan

With responsibilities, dates and decision owners, agreed before work starts.

  • Process development and documentation

Tailored to your operations, on Sterling's own template sets, built with your process owners.

  • Effivity ISO & GRC software

Your system runs in Effivity from day one, included with the engagement at no additional cost.

  • Training for everyone

Internal auditor training for your audit team, as applicable to your standard, and preferential Sterling Academy access, including complimentary awareness training for your people as part of the engagement.

  • Internal audit and management review

Conducted or facilitated as agreed, with findings closed with evidence before the certification body arrives.

  • Certification readiness and support

Preparation for Stage 1 and Stage 2, and support until the certificate is issued.

Certification decisions remain with the independent certification body.

Standards in demand

The standards UK buyers ask for.

Quality, information security, environmental and health and safety certificates are the ones tenders and supplier questionnaires ask to see most often, and prequalification schemes check who issued them: Constructionline, for example, accepts ISO certificates only from UKAS accredited bodies or bodies accredited by EA, IAF or ILAC members. Suppliers of central government and NHS bodies add Cyber Essentials, and any organisation handling personal data answers to UK GDPR.

The region

London and the other Sterling offices in UK and Europe.

London leads work in the United Kingdom; Enschede leads work in the Netherlands and continental Europe. A group with sites in both markets keeps one engagement team, one Effivity workspace and one certification programme.

FAQs

Questions clients in the United Kingdom ask before they engage us.

The specific answers for your organisation come from the discovery call. These are the general ones.

Do you have ISO consultants in London?

Yes. Sterling's regional headquarters for UK and Europe is at Kemp House, 160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, and the team answers on +44 7482 876223 and uk@sterling-grc.com. Your engagement team agrees the scope with you, runs workshops and reviews online and visits your sites where an auditor will want to see the work in progress, from the gap analysis to certification.

Does Sterling issue ISO certificates in the UK?

No. Sterling does not certify or accredit. Our expert and experienced consultants prepare you through gap analysis, consulting, training, internal audit and support during the audits. An independent certification body, accredited by UKAS or another accreditation body, audits your system and decides whether to issue the certificate. You can check a UKAS accredited management system certificate on UKAS CertCheck.

Does ISO/IEC 27001 replace Cyber Essentials for UK government contracts?

No. PPN 014 makes a Cyber Essentials certificate, or equivalent, essential when data passes to a supplier of central government or NHS bodies, and it says most businesses with ISO/IEC 27001 will need Cyber Essentials as well, or must show equivalent controls. The London team plans both together, so the controls and the evidence overlap rather than repeat.

Will buyers in Europe accept a certificate issued in the UK?

Usually, when the buyer accepts the accreditation behind it. UKAS states that it is a signatory of the EA multilateral agreement, under which members' accreditations are accepted across members. Check the tender wording, the certificate scope and the body's accreditation before you choose a certification body. For groups working in both markets, the London and Enschede offices run one programme.

How do I arrange a meeting with the London team?

E-mail uk@sterling-grc.com or call +44 7482 876223, or choose a meeting at the London office in the enquiry form below. A consultant replies within one working day to agree the time and place. Many clients meet their consultant at their own premises first, because the discovery call and the gap analysis work best where the processes run.
