Sterling International Consulting Dubai, ISO consultants for the UAE

Sterling's regional headquarters in Bur Dubai is where our expert and experienced ISO consultants plan and lead engagements for organisations across the Emirates: quality, information security, environment, health and safety, and the UAE's own frameworks, built with your teams and carried through to the certification audit and beyond. We ensure successful certification for our clients.

  • One all-inclusive proposal for a defined scope: consulting, Effivity software, Sterling Academy access and internal auditor training, as applicable to your standard, in a single proposal
  • A local team for Dubai and the wider Emirates, part of a group with offices in 21 countries, implementing management systems since 2003
  • The Sterling Promise: 100% on-time completion, 100% success, 8,100+ client engagements. Sterling does not certify; an accredited body audits and decides

What we do here

Everything a Sterling engagement includes, delivered from Dubai.

The same engagement we deliver in 60+ countries, led from Dubai for clients on the mainland, in the free zones and across the other Emirates. One consultant leads your project from gap analysis to the certificate, with your people doing the work alongside us so the system stays yours after we leave.

  • Scope, gap analysis and implementation plan

With responsibilities, dates and decision owners, agreed before work starts.

  • Process development and documentation

Tailored to your operations, on Sterling's own template sets, built with your process owners.

  • Effivity ISO & GRC software

Your system runs in Effivity from day one, included with the engagement at no additional cost.

  • Training for everyone

Internal auditor training for your audit team, as applicable to your standard, and preferential Sterling Academy access, including complimentary awareness training for your people as part of the engagement.

  • Internal audit and management review

Conducted or facilitated as agreed, with findings closed with evidence before the certification body arrives.

  • Certification readiness and support

Preparation for Stage 1 and Stage 2, and support until the certificate is issued.

Certification decisions remain with the independent certification body.

Standards in demand

The standards organisations in the UAE ask us for most.

Most requests start with a customer, a main contractor, a tender or a parent group asking for a certificate. Alongside the ISO management system standards, the Dubai team works on the national and emirate-level frameworks that government entities, critical sectors and healthcare providers are expected to meet, and on the federal data protection law. If you are unsure which applies to you, the discovery call settles it.

The region

Dubai and the other Sterling offices in the Middle East and Africa.

Dubai is our regional headquarters for the Middle East and Johannesburg our regional headquarters for Africa, with offices in Saudi Arabia and a second office in the UAE, so a group with entities in several countries works with one engagement team and one plan.

FAQs

Questions clients in United Arab Emirates ask before they engage us.

The specific answers for your organisation come from the discovery call. These are the general ones.

Where is Sterling in Dubai, and who do I contact?

Our regional headquarters is at 202, Gym Building, Khalid Bin Walid Road, Bur Dubai, PO Box 27363, Dubai. Write to uae@sterling-grc.com or call +971 50 584 2597, and a Sterling consultant replies within one working day. The first step is a free discovery call of about thirty minutes, where we agree your scope, standards and target date before any proposal.

Does Sterling issue the ISO certificate?

No. Sterling does not certify. We build the management system with your team, prepare the evidence and support you through the audit, and an independent, accredited certification body audits and decides. In Dubai, the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) accredits certification bodies and publishes a directory of the bodies it accredits, so you can check a body before you appoint it.

Do you work with free-zone companies as well as mainland ones?

Yes. We scope each legal entity separately, because the rules that apply can differ. The UAE federal data protection law, for example, excludes free-zone companies that have their own data protection legislation, such as those in the DIFC. A group with mainland, free-zone and overseas entities can still run one management system and one certification programme where the certification body agrees the scope.

Is an ISO certificate needed to register as a government supplier in the UAE?

Not for the federal register. The Ministry of Finance asks suppliers for a trade licence, a VAT or tax registration certificate and a copy of the owner's passport, not an ISO certificate. Certificates are usually asked for by the customer, the tender or the sector: DESC ISR, for instance, applies to Dubai Government entities and the consultants and contractors who work with them. We confirm what your buyers expect during scoping.

Can the Dubai team support our sites elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa?

Yes. Dubai leads engagements across the region, with Johannesburg as regional headquarters for Africa and an office in Saudi Arabia, and the group has offices in 21 countries. Multi-site and multi-country groups work with one engagement team, one plan and one Effivity system, while the certification body confirms how sites in each country are sampled and audited.
