Sterling International Consulting Enschede, ISO consultants in the Netherlands
Sterling's ISO consultants in the Netherlands lead ISO certification, cyber security and data protection programmes for Dutch organisations from our regional headquarters in Enschede. One engagement team agrees the scope, builds the system with your people and stays with you until an independent certification body, accredited by the Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA) or another accreditation body, issues the certificate. We ensure successful certification for our clients.
- Regional headquarters for UK and Europe, working alongside our London regional headquarters and our office in Frankfurt am Main
- Programmes shaped around accredited certification, Dutch public tenders, the Cyberbeveiligingswet and the GDPR
- The Sterling Promise: 100% on-time completion, 100% success, 8,100+ client engagements. Sterling does not certify; an accredited body audits and decides
What we do here
Everything a Sterling engagement includes, delivered from Enschede.
The Enschede team runs the whole engagement for organisations in the Netherlands, from the first gap analysis to the day the certificate arrives, with the method the group has refined since 2003. Your engagement team works in your time zone, runs workshops and reviews online and visits your sites where an auditor will want to see the work being done.
Scope, gap analysis and implementation plan
With responsibilities, dates and decision owners, agreed before work starts.
Process development and documentation
Tailored to your operations, on Sterling's own template sets, built with your process owners.
Effivity ISO & GRC software
Your system runs in Effivity from day one, included with the engagement at no additional cost.
Training for everyone
Internal auditor training for your audit team, as applicable to your standard, and preferential Sterling Academy access, including complimentary awareness training for your people as part of the engagement.
Internal audit and management review
Conducted or facilitated as agreed, with findings closed with evidence before the certification body arrives.
Certification readiness and support
Preparation for Stage 1 and Stage 2, and support until the certificate is issued.
Certification decisions remain with the independent certification body.
Standards in demand
The standards Dutch buyers ask for.
Quality, information security, environmental and health and safety certificates are the ones tenders and supplier questionnaires ask to see most often. Dutch public buyers may ask for ISO 9001 when they make clear which risks it covers, and under EU procurement rules they must accept equivalent certificates from accredited bodies in other member states. Since 15 August 2026 the Cyberbeveiligingswet sets a duty of care, registration and incident reporting for the organisations it covers, and government bodies apply BIO2, built on ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002. Financial entities answer to DORA, and every organisation handling personal data to the GDPR.

FAQs
Questions clients in the Netherlands ask before they engage us.
The specific answers for your organisation come from the discovery call. These are the general ones.
Do you have ISO consultants in the Netherlands?
Yes. Sterling's regional headquarters for UK and Europe is at De Hems 4-33, Enschede, and the team answers on +31 6 8383 2492 and netherlands@sterling-grc.com. Your engagement team agrees the scope with you, runs workshops and reviews online and visits your sites where an auditor will want to see the work in progress, from the gap analysis to certification, wherever in the Netherlands you operate.
Does Sterling issue ISO certificates in the Netherlands?
No. Sterling does not certify or accredit. Our expert and experienced consultants prepare you through gap analysis, consulting, training, internal audit and support during the audits. An independent certification body audits your system and decides whether to issue the certificate. In the Netherlands, the RvA is the national accreditation body, designated in 2010 under Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, and its public register lists accreditations, including suspensions and withdrawals, so you can check a body before you choose it.
Can a Dutch public buyer require ISO 9001 in a tender?
Yes, within limits. In its Advies 93-95 of 2016, the Commissie van Aanbestedingsexperts found that a contracting authority may set ISO 9001 as a suitability requirement, provided it makes sufficiently clear which risks it wants to cover. Article 62 of Directive 2014/24/EU refers to certificates from accredited bodies and requires buyers to recognise equivalent certificates from bodies in other member states. Read the tender wording before you plan the scope and the target date.
Does the Cyberbeveiligingswet require ISO/IEC 27001 certification?
No law in our research requires the certificate itself. The Cyberbeveiligingswet, in force since 15 August 2026, requires appropriate measures, registration and the reporting of significant incidents. Government bodies must apply BIO2, which is based on NEN-EN-ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002, and healthcare providers are expected to show that they meet NEN 7510, against which certification is possible but not legally required. An ISO/IEC 27001 system is a well-understood way to organise and evidence those measures, and the Enschede team plans it with your sector's rules in view.
How do I arrange a meeting with the Enschede team?
E-mail netherlands@sterling-grc.com or call +31 6 8383 2492, or choose a meeting at the Enschede office in the enquiry form below. A consultant replies within one working day to agree the time and place.
