Shenzhen is a city of specialist districts. Bao'an reported some 59,000 manufacturers in 2024, built around smart terminals, ultra-high-definition video and semiconductors. Pingshan holds national bases for new-energy vehicles and biopharmaceuticals, and Guangming Science City pairs medical devices with artificial intelligence. Yantian port area, run by the municipal state-owned port group, handled more than 16 million TEU in 2025, and the Qianhai Cooperation Zone, covering 120.56 square kilometres, manages trade and modern services under its own authority. In July 2026 the municipal government issued the third edition of its '20+8' industry plan, adding low-altitude economy and aerospace to the list of strategic clusters. Shenzhen is a manufacturing, electronics and innovation city whose districts specialise sharply. In July 2026 the municipal government issued the third edition of its '20+8' plan, which names ten strategic emerging industry clusters, from new-generation information technology and biology to low-altitude economy and aerospace, and sets a 2030 goal of strategic emerging industries at 45 percent of output. Port, bonded and services zones sit alongside the factories.

Questions Shenzhen clients ask
Who looks after ISO and GRC work for Shenzhen organisations?
Shenzhen engagements are run by Sterling's Shanghai office, with remote workshops and visits to Shenzhen when a stage needs a site. Effivity and Sterling Academy are included. Sterling prepares the organisation; an accredited certification body chosen by the client assesses it and issues any certificate. Sterling itself never certifies.
Which Shenzhen districts concentrate electronics and vehicle manufacturing?
Bao'an is the electronics belt, with smart terminals, ultra-high-definition video and semiconductors, and the district reported some 59,000 manufacturers in 2024. Pingshan holds national bases for new-energy vehicles and biopharmaceuticals. Suppliers in both are audited by customers, so ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and related requests are frequent.
Does Yantian port create demand for management-system certification?
It creates a base of exporters, forwarders and bonded-zone operators whose customers assess quality, safety and continuity. The port handled more than 16 million TEU in 2025, per the municipal government. The port does not set a certificate rule itself; contracts and tenders do, so check the terms of each customer.
What does Qianhai offer businesses that sets it apart from other Shenzhen districts?
Qianhai is a managed zone of 120.56 square kilometres run by its own authority, which publishes an access catalogue and support policies. The authority reported trade growth of 62.9 percent in the first eight months of 2026, led by integrated circuits, biomedicine and consumer goods. Enterprise terms differ from other districts, so confirm eligibility with the authority.
