Does the '20+8' low-altitude cluster mean Shenzhen drone makers need AS9100?
Not by municipal rule. The plan names the cluster as a growth priority, but AS9100 is requested by aircraft and space customers who want a controlled supply chain. Drone makers selling to consumers rarely need it, while those supplying avionics or airframe parts to aerospace programmes often do. Check each customer's quality requirements.
Which Shenzhen suppliers are first to be asked for AS9100?
Electronics, sensor and precision-machining firms that already make to demanding specifications, many of them in Bao'an. When one of them wins an aerospace order, the buyer's quality clauses require a system with configuration control and counterfeit-part prevention.
