In short

AS9100 certification in Dubai at a glance

Aviation is a named focus of Dubai South, the master development beside Al Maktoum International Airport, and its work areas include an MBR Aerospace Hub. Pure cargo operators moved to Al Maktoum while Dubai International kept much of the belly-hold freight, so aircraft parts and spares can pass through two airports in one emirate. Prime contractors and operators asking suppliers for proof of a quality system built for aviation, space and defence are looking for AS9100: ISO 9001 plus product safety, configuration management and counterfeit-part prevention. An accredited certification body issues the certificate. Sterling's Dubai office prepares the system with you, with Effivity and Sterling Academy included with the engagement, and the UAE page covers national accreditation.

AS9100 in Dubai: questions clients ask

Does Dubai have an aerospace cluster that asks suppliers for AS9100?

Dubai South names aviation as a core focus and lists an MBR Aerospace Hub among its work areas, so aerospace buyers are present in the emirate. No Dubai authority was found that makes AS9100 a legal requirement. The request normally arrives in prime contractors' and operators' supplier terms, so read the quality clause of each purchase contract.

Which Dubai airport matters for an aircraft parts supplier?

Both can. Pure cargo operators were moved to Al Maktoum International, while Dubai International continues to handle much belly-hold freight, so the route depends on how your goods travel. Your forwarder's paperwork may differ by airport. That is a separate matter from how your quality system is audited and certified.
