ISO 45001 certification in Dubai at a glance
Warehouses, heavy lifting, hot work and chemical handling define a large share of Dubai's industrial workplaces. Jebel Ali Free Zone lists petrochemicals, oil and gas, and logistics; Dubai Industrial City names base metals and food and beverage manufacturing; Dubai South's Logistics District runs bonded cargo handling next to the airport. Contractors working for these operators are routinely asked to show how they control risk. ISO 45001 provides the structure: hazard identification, worker consultation, operational controls and incident learning, assessed by an accredited certification body. Sterling's Dubai office carries out walk-through risk assessments on your sites and trains your supervisors, with Effivity and Sterling Academy included. National labour and safety law is covered on the UAE page.

ISO 45001 in Dubai: questions clients ask
Which Dubai industrial zones carry the highest workplace risk?
Jafza, which lists petrochemicals, oil and gas and logistics, and Dubai Industrial City, where base metals and food manufacturing are named sectors, both involve hazardous processes. Risk depends on each site's activities, so a site-specific hazard assessment matters more than the zone name.
Do principal contractors in Dubai ask for ISO 45001?
That is for each client to decide. No Dubai-level requirement was found for the standard itself, so any request comes from principal contractors and operators in their own prequalification terms. Ask the client what evidence it accepts, since some want a certificate and others want a described system with statistics.
