Sterling OS™

Sterling OS™ Automate™: connect your evidence: video

A one-minute film on running a management system in software from the first workshop, so evidence is kept as the work is done.

  • Sterling OS™
  • 1 min

Key takeaways

  • Automate™ runs the management system in Effivity from the first week.
  • Deliverables are created in Effivity, not copied into it later.
  • Existing documents and registers worth keeping are migrated and linked to requirements.
  • Leadership sees every standard and location in one view.
  • The Effivity subscription is included with the engagement at no additional cost.

The management system in one workspace

Automate™ is the part of every Sterling engagement that puts the management system into Effivity, the ISO and GRC automation platform built by the Sterling group. Documents, registers, audits, actions and management review sit in one workspace, configured within the agreed scope and included with the engagement at no additional cost, for the standards and frameworks in scope, alone or as one integrated system.

This one-minute film introduces the idea. The point is practical: records created by the people doing the work turn audit preparation into a review rather than a hunt through folders.

For multi-site and integrated programmes the same order is followed on a longer calendar, with each site and standard added to the same workspace.

How automation runs through the engagement

Automate™ is not a separate project that starts once the documents are written. It runs through the stages of Sterling OS™ from the first week, so each deliverable is created in Effivity rather than copied into it later. It starts with the scope and workspace set-up: the standards, sites, departments and users in scope, and a look at how records are kept today, whether in spreadsheets, shared drives, paper or another tool.

The workspace is then structured for the organisation's standards, sites and departments, with users and access roles agreed. Documents and registers worth keeping are migrated, checked with their owners and linked to the requirements they meet. As the system runs, evidence is kept as work is done, and leadership sees actions and performance for every standard and location in one view. There is no separate software contract: the Effivity subscription is included with the Sterling engagement for the users and scope agreed.

Expert and experienced consultants configure the workspace and train the people who use it. Software supports the system; certification and attestation decisions remain with the independent bodies that make them.
