ISO 27001 certification in Abu Dhabi at a glance
Healthcare gives Abu Dhabi the clearest information-security rule. The Department of Health's ADHICS Standard is mandatory for all public and private healthcare facilities, is a prerequisite for connecting to the Malaffi health information exchange, and describes itself as aligned with international standards without naming ISO/IEC 27001. ADGM adds a financial-sector audience whose clients ask suppliers for independent evidence, and KEZAD manufacturers face customer security questionnaires. ISO/IEC 27001 certification, issued by an accredited certification body, shows that an information security management system is run, and it can organise much of the evidence ADHICS needs, though it does not replace it. Sterling's Dubai office serves Abu Dhabi organisations, with Effivity and Sterling Academy included with the engagement.

ISO 27001 in Abu Dhabi: questions clients ask
Does ADHICS require ISO/IEC 27001 certification?
No. ADHICS is the Department of Health's own standard, mandatory for public and private healthcare facilities, and the Department's announcement of it does not name ISO/IEC 27001. A certified management system can support the evidence you keep, but confirm with the Department directly what it accepts as compliance.
Which Abu Dhabi organisations are asked for ISO/IEC 27001?
Suppliers to ADGM financial firms and to healthcare facilities are the typical cases, because their clients carry regulatory duties and seek independent assurance. The request is made in contracts and tenders rather than by an authority, so check the wording of each document you receive.
