ISO 37301 certification in Poland at a glance
In Poland, ISO 37301 is asked for by buyers and schemes rather than required by law. The drivers below show where the pressure comes from.
Compliance in Poland is not one obligation but many, and ISO 37301 gives them a single frame. The Act on the protection of whistleblowers requires a legal entity to set an internal procedure for reporting breaches of law and taking follow-up action, after consulting employee representatives where they exist. The Act on the liability of collective entities asks, under Art. 5, whether an offence followed from a lack of due care in selecting or supervising those acting for the company, or from an organisation of activity that did not prevent it. Neither names ISO 37301, so the standard is a way to organise the evidence rather than a legal shield. Groups with Polish subsidiaries, regulated businesses and suppliers answering customer questionnaires are the main audience. The certificate is issued by a body accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) or another within the international recognition arrangements. Sterling's Frankfurt office builds the compliance register, risk assessment, controls and monitoring, with Effivity and Sterling Academy included in the engagement.
Who needs ISO 37301 in Poland, and what happens without it
In Poland the question rarely comes from a law. It comes from the buyer, the regulator or the partner that wants proof before it signs. These are the organisations that get asked.
- Companies in regulated or enforcement-heavy sectorsA documented compliance system shows how obligations are identified, assigned and monitored.
- Employers building reporting and investigation arrangementsThe whistleblower Act requires an internal procedure for reports and follow-up.
- Groups with Polish subsidiaries and a central compliance functionOne compliance management system can serve entities in several countries.
- Suppliers answering customers' compliance questionnairesLarger customers ask suppliers how legal and contractual obligations are controlled.

Strip away the vocabulary and ISO 37301 requires a company to prove six things about how it meets its legal and other obligations.
In Poland these six sit alongside the local laws and regulations listed under drivers below; one system can evidence both. The detail is on the global hub: ISO 37301 explained →

How long does ISO 37301 certification take in Poland?
There is no standard duration: it depends on your scope and on how much of the system already runs. In Poland these are the factors that set the timeline.
- Number of legal entities, activities and obligations in the compliance register
- Maturity of risk assessment and controls
- Reporting channel and investigation process
- Certification body scheduling
Sterling agrees a dated plan with you on the discovery call, once the scope is known.
How much does ISO 37301 certification cost in Poland?
The cost has two parts: the consulting work to build and prove the system, and the certification body’s audit fees, which are quoted separately. In Poland these factors move both.
- Number of entities and compliance obligations in scope
- Monitoring, testing and training effort
- Certification body audit fees quoted separately from consulting
- Integration with ISO 37001 and ISO 9001
Sterling gives one customised, all-inclusive proposal after the discovery call, never before the scope is agreed.
ISO 37301 consultants and certification bodies in Poland
Two different organisations are involved. A consultant helps you build the system and prove it works; an accredited certification body then audits or assesses it and decides. Keeping the two separate is what makes the result credible to buyers and regulators.
- Check that the body’s accreditation or approval covers ISO 37301 and your sector, and that its certificates can be verified online.
- Ask the consultant how the local requirements in Poland are mapped into the same system, so nothing runs twice.
- Ask for client references in your sector; Sterling’s client letters are available on request.
- Agree who owns the evidence and the tool after the engagement; with Sterling the system stays yours, in Effivity.

ISO 37301 in Poland: questions clients ask
Does Polish law require a compliance management system?
Not by name, but the Act on the liability of collective entities makes organisation matter. Under Art. 5 an entity can be liable where an offence follows from poor selection or supervision of those acting for it, or from an organisation of activity that failed to prevent it. A documented system helps show care. Ask counsel how courts would weigh it.
How does ISO 37301 fit with the Polish whistleblower rules?
It gives the reporting procedure a management-system frame. Art. 24 of the Act on the protection of whistleblowers requires a legal entity to set an internal procedure for reports and follow-up, after consulting employee representatives where they exist. ISO 37301 adds roles, investigation, monitoring and improvement around it. The standard is not named in the Act, so check the details with counsel.
Can one system cover ISO 37301 and ISO 37001?
Yes, they are commonly built together. Both are management-system standards, so policy, risk assessment, training, reporting, investigation, internal audit and management review can be shared, with anti-bribery controls added for ISO 37001. Integration is among the cost drivers because it removes duplicated documents. Agree combined audit arrangements with your certification body.
Which accreditation should an ISO 37301 certification body hold in Poland?
Accreditation from the Polskie Centrum Akredytacji or from another body within the international arrangements, scoped to this standard. PCA is Poland's national accreditation body and says its signed agreements deliver recognition abroad. As ISO 37301 is a newer certification area, ask the body for its accredited scope in writing and for audit experience in your sector.
