What we do here
Everything a Sterling engagement includes, delivered from Frankfurt.
The Frankfurt team runs the whole engagement for organisations in Germany, from the first gap analysis to the day the certificate or assessment result arrives, with the method the group has refined since 2003. Your engagement team works in your time zone, runs workshops and reviews online and comes to your sites wherever the auditor will want to see the work being done.
Scope, gap analysis and implementation plan
With responsibilities, dates and decision owners, agreed before work starts.
Process development and documentation
Tailored to your operations, on Sterling's own template sets, built with your process owners.
Effivity ISO & GRC software
Your system runs in Effivity from day one, included with the engagement at no additional cost.
Training for everyone
Internal auditor training for your audit team, as applicable to your standard, and preferential Sterling Academy access, including complimentary awareness training for your people as part of the engagement.
Internal audit and management review
Conducted or facilitated as agreed, with findings closed with evidence before the certification body arrives.
Certification readiness and support
Preparation for Stage 1 and Stage 2, and support until the certificate is issued.
Certification decisions remain with the independent certification body.
Standards in demand
The standards buyers in Germany ask for.
Accredited certification in Germany runs through DAkkS, the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany, which accredits management system certification bodies to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 and is a member of EA. Automotive suppliers meet two further systems shaped by the German automotive association VDA: IATF 16949 for quality, and TISAX for information security, governed by the ENX Association from offices that include Frankfurt. NIS2 and GDPR apply across the EU, and IFS Food was introduced in 2003 by the German Retail Federation HDE with its French counterpart.

FAQs
Questions clients in Germany ask before they engage us.
The specific answers for your organisation come from the discovery call. These are the general ones.
Do you have ISO consultants in Frankfurt?
Yes. Sterling's office in Germany is in the OpernTurm, Bockenheimer Landstrasse 2-4, Frankfurt am Main, and the team answers on germany@sterling-grc.com. Your engagement team agrees the scope with you, runs workshops and reviews online and visits your sites where the auditor will want to see the work in progress, from the gap analysis to certification.
Does Sterling issue ISO certificates in Germany?
No. Sterling does not certify or accredit. Our expert and experienced consultants prepare you through gap analysis, consulting, training, internal audit and support during the audits. An independent certification body audits your system and decides whether to issue the certificate. In Germany, DAkkS accredits management system certification bodies, so check the body's accreditation and the certificate scope before you choose one.
Is TISAX a certificate?
No. An audit provider approved by the ENX Association assesses your information security against the VDA ISA catalogue at Assessment Level 2 or 3, and the result is a set of TISAX labels on the ENX portal, generally valid for three years. Assessments ordered until 31 December 2026 use VDA ISA 6; those ordered from 1 January 2027 use VDA ISA2027. The Frankfurt team prepares you for either.
Does ISO/IEC 27001 certification make us NIS2 compliant?
Not on its own. ENISA's technical implementation guidance of 26 June 2025 maps NIS2 requirements to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for the digital infrastructure, ICT service management and digital provider sectors, but it is advisory and says implementing it does not assume compliance. Your obligations come from national law, so confirm your position with your legal adviser; the Frankfurt team then plans one programme in which the ISMS and the NIS2 measures share controls and evidence.
How do I arrange a meeting with the Frankfurt team?
E-mail germany@sterling-grc.com, or choose a meeting at the Frankfurt office in the enquiry form below. A consultant replies within one working day to agree the time and place. Many clients meet their consultant at their own premises first, because the discovery call and the gap analysis work best where the processes run.
