ISO 27001 certification in Manila at a glance
Manila's shippers keep asking one thing of the businesses that handle their cargo: show us your controls. Forwarders, brokers and agents around the Port of Manila move shipment, customs and payment data every hour, hospitals hold patient records, and suppliers to metro-wide services handle data for agencies and residents. ISO/IEC 27001 gives each a recognised answer: a risk-based information security management system with a Statement of Applicability, Annex A controls, internal audit and management review. Philippine privacy and sector rules are described on the Philippines page. Sterling's Manila office builds the system with your team, using Effivity for the risk register and corrective actions, and an accredited certification body issues the certificate.

ISO 27001 in Manila: questions clients ask
Why would a Manila freight forwarder seek ISO/IEC 27001?
Largely because shippers and carriers circulate security questionnaires about shipment, customs and payment data, and each forwarder must reply. A certified information security management system settles many of those items in one go. Nothing makes it mandatory by default; a customer's contract or regulator would have to, as the Philippines page describes.
Can a Manila hospital scope ISO/IEC 27001 narrowly?
Yes. The scope can cover chosen systems, departments and sites, such as a patient-records platform, while stating clearly what is outside it. The certification body tests that the scope is accurate and the risk assessment fits it. Philippine data protection duties continue to apply to everything outside the scope as well.
