ISO 17025 accreditation in Sharjah at a glance
Laboratories matter in Sharjah for two practical reasons. Hamriyah's Food Park advertises food testing and laboratory services among its tenant support, and Sharjah Airport sends items such as baby food, edible oils and dairy for laboratory testing on arrival. Both create demand for results people can rely on. ISO/IEC 17025 sets the competence requirements: validated methods, measurement uncertainty, traceable calibration, impartiality and proficiency testing. Unlike a management-system certificate, accreditation is granted by an accreditation body after technical assessment, so preparation focuses on evidence assessors will test. Sterling prepares Sharjah laboratories from its Dubai office, covering the quality manual, method validation files and internal audit, while the national accreditation route is set out on the UAE page.

ISO 17025 in Sharjah: questions clients ask
Which Sharjah sites create the demand for accredited food testing?
Two stand out. Hamriyah's Food Park lists food testing and laboratory services among what it offers tenants, and Sharjah Airport subjects items such as baby food, edible oils and dairy to laboratory testing on arrival. Whether a particular result needs an accredited laboratory depends on the authority or customer asking for it.
Is ISO 17025 awarded by a certification body?
No. Laboratories are accredited, not certified, and the award comes from an accreditation body after assessors examine technical competence, methods, uncertainty and proficiency results. A consultant can prepare the laboratory but cannot grant or promise accreditation. The UAE bodies and their scope are described on the national ISO 17025 page.
