AS9100 certification in Poland at a glance
In Poland, AS9100 is asked for by buyers and schemes rather than required by law. The drivers below show where the pressure comes from.
Aerospace buyers look for one thing a supplier cannot fake: a certificate that appears in the IAQG's OASIS database. The IAQG describes OASIS as the online resource listing suppliers certified or registered to the 9100-series quality management requirements under IAQG rules, and as holding the accreditation bodies, certification bodies and auditors involved. For Polish machining shops, surface-treatment houses, electronics subcontractors and manufacturers diversifying into aerospace, AS9100 certification is usually the ticket onto a supplier panel, and the demand is written into customers' purchase conditions. Certification is by a body operating inside the scheme, with accreditation from the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) or another accreditation body within the international recognition arrangements. Sterling's Frankfurt office builds the system on the existing quality system, concentrating on configuration management, traceability and special processes, and includes Effivity and Sterling Academy in the engagement.
Who needs AS9100 in Poland, and what happens without it
In Poland the question rarely comes from a law. It comes from the buyer, the regulator or the partner that wants proof before it signs. These are the organisations that get asked.
- Aerospace component and assembly suppliersAerospace customers expect AS9100 or EN 9100 certification, with the supplier recorded in the IAQG OASIS database.
- Machining, surface-treatment and electronics subcontractors entering aerospaceEntry to aerospace supplier panels usually depends on certification.
- Defence suppliers working to aerospace quality requirementsDefence programmes can apply aerospace quality requirements to suppliers.
- Manufacturers diversifying production into aerospaceNew production lines can be supported by the new-investment relief, but customers still require the aerospace certificate.

Strip away the vocabulary and AS9100 asks a supplier to prove six things about delivering aerospace products safely and on time.
In Poland these six sit alongside the local laws and regulations listed under drivers below; one system can evidence both. The detail is on the global hub: AS9100 explained →

How long does AS9100 certification take in Poland?
There is no standard duration: it depends on your scope and on how much of the system already runs. In Poland these are the factors that set the timeline.
- Product and special-process scope, such as heat treatment or non-destructive testing
- Configuration management and first-article inspection maturity
- Customer-specific requirements
- Certification body availability
Sterling agrees a dated plan with you on the discovery call, once the scope is known.
How much does AS9100 certification cost in Poland?
The cost has two parts: the consulting work to build and prove the system, and the certification body’s audit fees, which are quoted separately. In Poland these factors move both.
- Number of sites and special processes
- Product complexity and traceability needs
- Internal auditor and product-auditor training
- Certification body audit fees quoted separately from consulting
Sterling gives one customised, all-inclusive proposal after the discovery call, never before the scope is agreed.
AS9100 consultants and certification bodies in Poland
Two different organisations are involved. A consultant helps you build the system and prove it works; an accredited certification body then audits or assesses it and decides. Keeping the two separate is what makes the result credible to buyers and regulators.
- Check that the body’s accreditation or approval covers AS9100 and your sector, and that its certificates can be verified online.
- Ask the consultant how the local requirements in Poland are mapped into the same system, so nothing runs twice.
- Ask for client references in your sector; Sterling’s client letters are available on request.
- Agree who owns the evidence and the tool after the engagement; with Sterling the system stays yours, in Effivity.

Certification is under the IAQG scheme, by a certification body that operates within the IAQG rules and is recorded in OASIS together with its accreditation body, which may be the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) or another accreditation body within the international mutual recognition arrangements (Global ACI — Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, formerly the IAF MLA). Check the body's listing and scope. No body is named here. Edition and transition details: AS9100 hub →
Audit language
Audits are held in Polish or English; agree the audit language and the language of controlled documents with the certification body at application. Aerospace customers usually issue requirements in English.
Remote and on-site
Remote audit elements are at the certification body's discretion under the IAQG rules; production and special-process sites are normally visited on-site.
AS9100 in Poland: questions clients ask
Where are aerospace certificates recorded?
In the IAQG's OASIS database. The IAQG describes OASIS as the online resource that lists suppliers certified or registered under its rules to the 9100-series aerospace requirements. Buyers check it for your certificate, so ask your certification body how and when your entry will appear.
Who sits behind an AS9100 certificate in Poland?
Three parties: the supplier, a certification body working under the IAQG rules, and an accreditation body such as the Polskie Centrum Akredytacji. OASIS holds the accreditation bodies, certification bodies and authorised auditors involved in the process alongside certified suppliers. Check that your chosen body is listed and covers your product and processes.
Does Polish law require AS9100?
Not directly. The requirement comes from customers' purchase conditions and the aerospace supply chain, so the exact designation, 9100 series scope and any additional approvals are set by each customer. Ask each buyer which version and which special-process approvals it expects before you plan the audit.
Can an AS9100 audit be carried out remotely?
Some elements may be, but not all. Remote audit elements are at the certification body's discretion under the IAQG rules, and production and special-process sites are normally visited on-site. Agree the audit plan with the body early, because special processes and first-article inspection are usually examined where the work is done.
