In short

NIS2 compliance in Utrecht at a glance

Two groups in Utrecht should check their position under NIS2: providers in the ICT sector the city prioritises, and the health and research organisations around Utrecht Science Park. The first group may be directly in scope or serve customers who are; the second works in sectors the directive treats as important. Scope is a legal question answered on the country page, and your counsel or the competent authority should confirm it. The practical work is the same either way: a gap analysis, risk-management measures, supply-chain security, incident detection and reporting procedures, continuity arrangements and management accountability. Sterling guides that work and records the evidence in Effivity. NIS2 compliance is a legal position, not a certificate.

NIS2 in Utrecht: questions clients ask

Why might a Utrecht ICT provider face NIS2 questions?

Because customers that fall within scope must manage the security of their suppliers, and providers that run networks or hosted services are natural targets of those checks. Even where a provider is not itself covered, it may be asked about risk management and incident handling.

Does ISO 27001 certification prove NIS2 compliance?

No. ISO 27001 can support an organisation's risk-management approach, but NIS2 sets its own legal duties and supervision. A certificate does not decide whether you comply. Use the standard as a framework, and ask your counsel or the authority to confirm what the law expects of you.
