Does a Hyderabad capability centre need its own ISO 27001 certificate?
Often the parent's certificate does not cover a Hyderabad site unless the site is named in its scope. A capability centre can be added to a group scope or hold its own certificate, whichever the parent's security team prefers. Agree this with the group and the accredited certification body early, because scope wording decides what clients may rely on.
Can a Hyderabad start-up in a shared IT park certify only its product?
Yes. The scope can be limited to a product, a service and the locations that run it, which suits a software firm sharing a campus in Madhapur or Kokapet. The certificate must describe that scope plainly, and the assessor checks that the boundary is real, so shared services such as reception and facilities are handled in the statement of applicability.
