ISO 37301 certification in London at a glance

A London group with regulated activities, overseas subsidiaries and a thicket of obligations needs a way to hold them together. ISO 37301 supplies it: a register of obligations, owned risks and controls, and reporting that reaches the board, whatever the sector. ISO 37301 is the compliance management system standard: identify compliance obligations, assess risks, set controls, train people and monitor performance and culture. Sterling prepares the system from its London office, with Effivity and Sterling Academy included; the certificate comes from an accredited certification body, and national rules sit on the UK page. National law, regulators and accreditation detail sit on the United Kingdom page rather than here.

ISO 37301 in London: questions clients ask

What does ISO 37301 add for a London group?

A single management system that links obligations to risks, controls, owners and reporting, instead of separate lists in different departments. For London groups with several regulators it provides structure and evidence of oversight. It is voluntary and does not replace sector rules, which remain national.

Is ISO 37301 certifiable or only guidance?

It is a certifiable requirements standard, unlike some guidance documents. An accredited certification body can audit the system and issue a certificate. Many London firms use it internally first, building the register and controls before deciding whether external certification adds value for clients.
