Does Muscat Municipality name ISO 22000 in its food requirements?
Not on the pages recorded. The municipality's health requirement lists are organised by activity, from restaurants and bakeries to food manufacturing, storage and transport vehicles, and none of them cites ISO 22000. The certificate is therefore something a customer or the business itself chooses, so confirm the current wording with the municipality and the buyer.
Where does ISO 22000 fit between municipal rules and FSSC 22000 in Muscat?
The municipal lists are the floor, ISO 22000 is a recognised management system above it, and FSSC 22000 adds scheme rules that some retail and export buyers insist on. Many Muscat sites start with ISO 22000 or HACCP, then move up if a customer asks. An accredited certification body issues each certificate.
