Why would a CBD headquarters ask suppliers for ISO 37001?
Because group anti-bribery policies extend to the third parties who act for the headquarters. A certified system gives procurement and compliance teams evidence that an agent, distributor or service supplier assesses bribery risk and controls gifts and payments. It is requested by clients, not imposed by the city.
Does ISO 37001 replace legal anti-corruption compliance in Beijing?
No. The standard organises how a company prevents, detects and responds to bribery; it cannot guarantee that the law has been met. Statutory duties are national and vary by sector. Take legal questions to counsel or the competent authority, and use the certificate to show customers that controls exist and are checked.
