In short

ISO 14001 certification in Sydney at a glance

In western Sydney, the ground itself is changing: the Western Sydney Employment Area keeps adding warehouses and industrial land, while the Aerotropolis precincts around the new airport are being planned from the ground up. Contractors and operators working there meet environmental conditions set by landlords, councils and head contractors. At the coast, Port Authority of NSW oversees dangerous goods and marine environmental protection around Port Botany. ISO 14001 gives an organisation a structured way to identify its environmental aspects, keep track of legal and other obligations, set objectives and improve. It sits alongside permits, not instead of them. Sterling's Sydney office builds the system around your real sites and prepares your people for the accredited certification body's assessment.

ISO 14001 in Sydney: questions clients ask

Who in Sydney is asked for ISO 14001?

Contractors on Western Sydney projects, logistics and waste operators, manufacturers on the employment lands and port-linked businesses. Tender documents for large infrastructure usually set the requirement, so read the environmental clauses before deciding the scope. The scope should follow the sites that carry real environmental risk.

Does the Port Authority of NSW require ISO 14001?

No requirement for the certificate is recorded. Port Authority of NSW manages harbour safety, dangerous goods and marine environmental protection, and port users must meet its operational rules. ISO 14001 helps an operator organise its compliance, but it does not replace permits. Confirm your obligations with the authority.
